The reform passed, the difficulties continue: the day after the validation of the foundations of the pension reform by the Constitutional Council, and its express promulgation by Emmanuel Macron, the inter-union does not give up. He intends to give his opinion on the implementing decrees and promises that May 1, Labor Day, will be an exceptional day of mobilization.
The meeting proposed by Emmanuel Macron to the unions for Tuesday will undoubtedly have to wait: the inter-union union has no intention of going to the Elysee before May 1, a traditional social gathering that it wants to transform into “a day of exceptional and popular mobilization” against the heart of the reform validated by the Constitutional Council: retirement at 64 years of age.
“May 1, 2023: everyone to the streets”
Since the morning of this Saturday, the calls of the opposition, which calls for action on May 1, have not ceased.
For François Ruffin, deputy LFI / Nupes de la Somme, it will be a matter of showing his opposition in numbers. “We are strong. We are the future. We are millions. We will show it with a great May 1,” the Somme elected official said.
“Like thieves, Emmanuel Macron and his gang enacted their pension law in the middle of the night. Because they know it well: what they have just practiced is a democratic robbery”, estimated Francois Ruffin on Twitter.
