“Yes, we will reform pensions,” resolved Gabriel Attal in the columns of the Sunday newspaper. “The new rights, the improvement of our public services, that requires activity”, justified the Minister of Action and Public Accounts, before summing up: “work more to live better”.
“Our system is in deficit,” recalled the former government spokesman. He also insisted on the need to finance certain support measures such as raising the minimum pension to 1,100 euros and the revaluation of teachers’ salaries by 10% in particular.
The option of modifying the PLFSS is not ruled out
Regarding the way in which the reform will be adopted, Gabriel Attal did not contribute new elements. The approval of it by way of modification of the Social Security Financing Bill (PLFSS) is, in particular, one of the options on the table.
“This point will be decided by the president and the prime minister,” he said. “Whatever the solution (…) the social partners and Parliament will be at the center of the debates,” he assured, however.
