Pressures on core inflation remain high in the eurozone and there is “no clear evidence” that a peak has been reached in this area, European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde said on Monday.
“The latest available data suggests that indicators of core inflation pressures remain elevated and, while some are showing signs of moderation, there is no strong evidence that core inflation has peaked,” he said, according to a written transmission from a speech addressed to the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament.
