Prince Harry visited St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, where the sovereign rests. The British media thus spread a photograph of the prince taken by visitors this Friday, leaving the chapel where the queen was buried on September 19, 2022.
If he didn’t accompany his father, King Charles, who currently resides in Balmoral, Scotland, with Queen Camilla, or his brother William on an official visit to Wales with Kate, Prince Harry did it all, even mentioning the memory of the queen on Thursday.
“She’s watching us.”
“As you know, I couldn’t go to the ceremony last year because my grandmother had just died,” she said at the WellChild Awards ceremony in London.
“I am convinced, a year later, that she is watching us from the sky tonight,” he added.
Rushing to Queen Elizabeth’s bedside on September 8, 2022, with the rest of the family, Prince Harry arrived too late to see her alive. At Balmoral he was met by his aunt, Princess Anne, who took him to the queen’s remains. He recounts this moment in his book, The substitutepublished last January:
“I walked forward uncertainly and saw her. I stood still, staring at her for a long time. I whispered to her that I hoped she was happy and was with Grandpa now.
The Queen now rests with her beloved Felipe, her husband of more than 73 years, at the George VI Memorial, sheltered by the Saint-Georges chapel. It is there, at the monument to George VI, where Elizabeth II’s parents, King George VI, who died in 1952, her mother, the “queen mom”“, who died at the age of 102 in March 2002, and his sister Margaret, who died in February 2002.
