Now Strong has finally responded to the profile, saying he feels “deep betrayal”.
The profile in question was published on the New Yorker last year and gave birth to “On ‘Succession’, Jeremy Strong doesn’t get the line”. In the story, Strong is said to have claimed to take his character as seriously as his life itself. Now based on a recent interview with dressing table Strong doesn’t seem very happy with the result, saying:
Yes, what am I saying? It was something that, to me, seemed like a rather profound betrayal of trust.
During her interview, the star was specifically asked about the “strong reaction” she received from the profile. Social media was burned after publication. Many people had a lot to say about the actor’s alleged methods at the time, some apparently more critical than others.
However, their Molly’s game co-star Jessica Chastain and writer / director Aaron Sorkin have come to Jeremy Strong’s defense. . Chastain called her a “lovely person” and advised her followers on social media not to believe everything they read. Sorkin, who was mentioned in his profile, wrote after his post that he may have “helped” create a “distorted image of Jeremy” by posting a transcript of what he told the New Yorker.
At the recent Vanity Fair interview, the actor said he takes acting very seriously and has dedicated his life to art. He also said that sometimes, as an artist, you have to do “a big big dick jerk” and that’s part of the “admission price” to do a good job. The noise and the fog after: I think it’s something I imagine that ultimately what matters to me is trying to feel as free as possible as an actor. Part of this is trying to isolate yourself from everything and what people might say or think about you. You have to get rid of this. It was painful. I felt silly. As an actor, one of the most vital secret weapons you can have is the ability to tolerate feeling stupid.
Jeremy Strong talked about the ups and downs of filming the hit HBO show, which is heavy drama. He said seasons 1 and 2 were hard to film, but Strong felt better at the start of the third season .
