It’s the perfect time to be a Keanu Reeves fan. And after fifteen years of loyal DC fans clamoring for him, a sequel to 2005 constantine officially received the green light. There is no shortage of Keanu content for fans looking for it. Reeves goes a long time play hard But what do you do with your free time? Submit your stories, of course, and that includes an idea for a superhero movie that has been made into a comic.
The Matrix the actor appeared on the late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about the upcoming release of his comedy series, BRZRKR (pronounced Berzerk). The conversation quickly turned to his love of comics. Reeves told a lovely little anecdote about how his confusion about the nature of a town hall went from thinking he was pitching an idea for a movie to realizing he was being asked to help launch a comic. The actor said to the guest late at night:
I love to tell stories. I got this idea, went to a general meeting and met this company called Boom! Studies, I talked to them. [Boom!], and they were talking to me. They said, ‘Do you have any ideas?’ And I said, “Yeah, I have this idea of this guy who could puncture people’s chests and rip their arms out.” And he was born 80,000 years ago. And they said to me: ‘Sorry, do you want to do a comic? And I started looking where I was, and I noticed all these comics. And I was like, absolutely, I want to do a comic, because I went there thinking maybe it was an idea for a movie … but I love comics, and I’ve never done that before, and they helped form a good one. squad. – another writer, Matt Kindt, and a legendary artist, Ron Garneyt.
Obviously, Keanu Reeves thought this was a movie he was hosting. A fairly simple mistake to make when you’re as busy as he is. But maybe if the comic is popular enough, a film adaptation isn’t out of reach. Jimmy Kimmel joked about the main character in the comic series (known simply as B) who looks a lot like Reeves. The host also asked if the star had intentionally had the artists draw the main character to look like him. It was a line of questions that made the actor visibly blush before nodding in confirmation. Plus he said:
But, to be honest, I was definitely cut out for the role.

BRZRKR tells the story of a centuries-old half-human, demigod who is forced to fight bloody battles that the US government considers too gruesome and dangerous even for them. It feels like the grandeur of a B-level action movie that excites me and I would love to see it brought to the big screen.
