Charlie Cox just wrapped another appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Daredevil and his the approval rating like Matt Murdock is still high among the fans. Sure, Matt looks a little different from his days on Netflix because he’s sporting a new yellow suit and even play tricks he wouldn’t dare do it in the chaos of Hell’s Kitchen. The character has shown a lot of changes in his MCU and I think I’m not the only one who isn’t a little curious as to why.
Every change we’ve seen so far in Matt Murdock’s character seems to have been done on purpose. Between She-Hulk: lawyer Yes Spider-Man: No homecomingI have to wonder if these changes are happening because the MCU is hoping to use Daredevil for more Marvel movie appearances in the near future. If you’re starting to see things change about the hero, it just looks like that’s why it’s happening.
Daredevil is significantly cooler than the Netflix series
Daredevil’s fight with She-Hulk in the Disney + series was a standard fare for the character in the beginning, but when did he cut that parking lot with a series of twists? It was on another level. It wasn’t something that was never shown on the Netflix series, and for good reason. Netflix’s former universe of heroes tried to keep things grounded, so seeing Daredevil casually making his way around a building wasn’t exactly normal.
Another thing we saw during she-hulk it was Daredevil who performed those physics-defying stick throws. These maneuvers do not correspond to reality, but in a world like the MCU where there are a lot of things that don’t make sense, it’s very easy to believe that Matt Murdock can do it smoothly. It’s also something he did in the comics long before he had a live-action series, so it’s not like he breaks the character in any way.
And let’s not forget that Daredevil wasn’t the only character in the franchise we’ve seen leveling up over the past year. Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin is back Hawk eye , and was significantly more durable than the average human. He took a tremendous amount of punishment in his fight sequences, and despite firing shots that would have killed any lesser human, he continued to charge.
I think the clear message is that Kevin Feige and other Marvel producers felt that Daredevil and his characters needed to be stronger when they came to the MCU. If the goal was just to make your action sequences funnier right now Daredevil: Born again raw So mission accomplished.
However, I tend to believe that these decisions are made specifically so that fans can finally see the teams they have been waiting for. There are Marvel fans who have waited decades to see Spider-Man and Daredevil share a screen, but if you tried to do it with Daredevil from the Netflix series, it wouldn’t work. This Daredevil is able to keep up with other heroes on the big screen, even if he’s not that powerful, and I don’t think that’s a coincidence.
Marvel didn’t have to change Daredevil for the sake of the fans
Disney has done a good job of revamping Daredevil so far, but I think it’s worth noting the risk it took in doing so. The saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” has power for a reason. the original Reckless The series was the gold standard for Marvel TV at the time, and even now I’d personally compare it to most Disney + Marvel shows and say it’s the superior product. Fans struggle to be continuous campaign for the return of a show years since its cancellation. It takes a lot more for people to support and care for a revival after so long, which really speaks to the quality of the original series.
We also go back in time where we didn’t know for sure that Charlie Cox would return as Daredevil and it was just a rumor. There have been heated debates and discussions as to whether the character should be restarted or not, or whether Marvel should simply continue the series and establish that it is set in a separate universe within the multiverse. There were actual plans that would see this happen before Daredevil joined one of the most prolific cinematic universes of all time, which is crazy.
So just to reiterate, Daredevil probably wasn’t changed as there was a sea of fans asking the character to get more powers or a new costume. There were certainly problems people had with the Netflixverse of Marvel shows, but Daredevil was the shining beacon of anyone who could have a sequel and no one would blink. In fact, it’s a shame we’re not, which means we won’t see this Bullseye remake cliffhanger unless Marvel reinvents it.
Daredevil befriends in the MCU
Fortunately, Daredevil still doesn’t need Bullseye, Foggy Nelson, or even Karen Page. He has already become good friends with She-Hulk and we assume that he probably met Spider-Man, even though he doesn’t remember helping Peter Parker with his lawsuit. Those friendships and relationships wouldn’t be necessary if he stayed in his little bubble in Hell’s Kitchen, so what’s in store for the character?
Sure, it can be anything from a movie appearance to another TV show or miniseries. I choose to believe in your inclusion Spider-Man: No homecomingHowever, it has been a primer for fans to say that Daredevil has a place in the Marvel movies and will kick ass in those movies at some point. Hell, he might even end up in the next Avengers lineup, because it’s unclear which heroes will or won’t be available at that time. the kan dynasty Yes secret wars to roll. I know I’d love to see it on the big screen, so consider me one of the satisfied fans if that happens.
Daredevil may appear in one of the wonder movie coming soon but for now anyone can watch his original series live Disney + (opens in a new tab). Daredevil: Born again is still in development, but we hope to have more details on this upcoming show soon.
