“What a thrill!” Former Miss France Sylvie Tellier announced this Wednesday, May 8, on her Instagram account, “extraordinary news”: on July 14, the former president of the Miss France committee will take the Olympic flame to Paris.
“This date is emblematic for me: not only did I get married and my third child was born that day, but, as Miss France, it symbolizes my deep connection with the Republic,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Unforgettable”
“A huge thank you to Valérie Pécresse (president of the Regional Council of Île-de-France, editor’s note), Tony Estanguet (president of the organizing committee of the Olympic Games, editor’s note) and Camille Emié (influence director of the Games Olympics), editor’s note) for this unique opportunity,” he added in the caption of a photo in which he appears with the Olympic torch.
“Although I am not an athlete, sport is an essential part of my life. Experiencing this event on our national holiday in Paris promises to be unforgettable,” he also stated.
Sylvie Tellier joins the list of French personalities who carry the flame. While rapper Jul lit the first Olympic cauldron in Marseille, Tony Parker, Redouane Bougheraba and Nicole Ferroni were also torchbearers.
