The second round of qualifiers for Eurovision 2024 took place this Thursday, May 9. Starting at 9 p.m., 16 of the 32 countries still competing faced off on the stage of the Malmö Arena, in Malmö (Sweden), for the second semifinal of this 68th edition.
Ten of them qualified at the end of this afternoon. Therefore, it will be one of the 26 countries that will perform during the grand final this Saturday, May 11. Here is the list of winners of this second semi-final: Latvia, Austria, Netherlands, Norway, Israel, Greece, Estonia, Switzerland, Georgia and Armenia.
They join the ten countries selected on Tuesday afternoon, during the first semi-final: Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Finland, Cyprus, Croatia, Ireland and Luxembourg.

To the 20 countries classified during these two previous evenings, the six automatically qualified are added: the five members of the Big Five (the largest financial contributors, including France) and Sweden, as last year’s winner. with the song Tattoo by Loreen.
They also performed during the two semi-finals, three per night: the German, Swedish and British candidates performed on Tuesday and the French, Italian and Spanish artists presented their pieces this Thursday.
As desired the rules, voting for each semifinal was open to viewers from the countries that performed there. The pre-qualified countries were in the same boat; Thus, French viewers were not able to vote on Tuesday but were able to participate in this Thursday’s vote.

Since last year, countries that do not participate in the contest can participate in the voting; Their voices are gathered in the same category, called “The rest of the world“, which counts as an additional country.
The outcome of the semi-finals is determined solely by viewer voting. Only on the night of the final will a jury made up of experts from each participating country enter into the equation and count 50% of the points awarded by each country.
