“The difference is that our society created it,” continues the man who swam across the English Channel in 2010, almost 20 years after all four limbs were amputated following an accident. “For decades we treated (people with disabilities) a little like Cosettes (…) We hid them, we put them in centers (…) Today they want to live with us.”
“They want to live in society, they want to live off the fruit of their work, they want to be autonomous. That does not hide the reality of things; we must improve the situation of people with disabilities in our societies. But films like this are really a change of perspective”.

“Soon we will have the Paralympic Games, which will once again change the vision that our society has about people who have different abilities,” he says. “They call us people with disabilities. I prefer to say that we are capable of other things.” He concludes:
