The investigative commission of the National Assembly, created after the hearing of actress Judith Godrèche, will prepare a report with “concrete” solutions next November.

The commission of inquiry of the National Assembly on the violence reported in particular in the cinema will present its report “around November 4”, with “concrete” solutions of a legislative nature but not only, its rapporteur and its president announced on Wednesday.

The hearings of this commission, whose creation was unanimously approved on May 2, will begin on May 22, environmental rapporteur Francesca Pasquini told the press, together with president Erwan Balanant (MoDem).

The creation of this organization, which will also focus on the world of live entertainment, audiovisuals, advertising and fashion, was requested by the actress Judith Godrèche, who has become one of the figures of the #MeToo movement in France and who presented an application. complaint against filmmakers Benoît Jacquot and Jacques Doillon for sexual and physical violence dating back to their adolescence.

“Concrete actions”

The actress presents this Wednesday, at the Cannes Festival, a short film she made to denounce sexual violence.

“We are more determined because every day speeches are given about new facts that are presented to us,” explained Francesca Pasquini.

“These speeches must also lead to concrete actions,” according to her.

In the report presented at the end of its work there will be “a legislative component”, but also “regulatory proposals” or suggestions of “good practices”, Balanant said.

He discussed labor law with his colleague, mentioning “things that do not apply” and “perhaps deficiencies.” “How can we say that a child can make a cast alone with an adult?” he asked.

When asked if they would interview Benoît Jacquot or the media psychoanalyst Gérard Miller, also accused of sexual violence, Erwan Balanant responded: “We do not prohibit ourselves from doing anything at all. With one goal: we are not prosecutors, (…) ( ni) researchers We are parliamentarians.

“Isn’t it up to the courts to listen to them?” he added.

Francesca Pasquini also welcomed the wide scope preserved: “All (these sectors, ed.) have something in common: the relationship with the body, the castings, many moments identified as potentially failed or with a kind of legal vagueness.” .

The objective of the commission is to evaluate the situation of minors, but also of adults who work in these various fields, including the schools that prepare these professions.
