“I pick up the phone, answer it and hear: ‘Hello Nadia, hello, I’m Jean-Jacques’. That’s when I tell myself, I don’t have any Jean-Jacques in my repertoire. After a few seconds I realized it was Jean-Jacques Goldman “I felt very funny on the phone. He is someone so simple that it surprises even more.”
This teacher from the Vénissieux schools spoke with the singer of Good idea since 2016 through the postal address of his record company. “I always felt great admiration for him,” Le Progrès reported. In 2019, he had the idea of putting on a musical on the theme of the Resistance, with his students from CM1. Nadia Bachmar contacts Jean-Jacques-Goldman.

“He knew that his father had been a resistance fighter in Vénissieux and that he had participated in his liberation within the resistance with the FTP-MOI (Francs-tireurs et partisans – immigrant labor), on August 26, 1944 , so it made sense to ask him,” he explained to Figaro.
But Covid puts a stop to the collaboration project. In June 2021, a show is produced of which Nadia Bachmar sends the video to Jean-Jacques Goldman, who calls her a few months after her.
Then, the singer sends the music and works with the students via video conference on the text. This is how the title was born. Resist!: “In June 2022, we recorded it in Michael Jones’ studio, in the east of Lyon,” he says. “Jean-Jacques couldn’t be there, but he added his voice as an introduction, reciting an excerpt from the letter written by the Armenian resistance fighter. Jean-Jacques Goldman, a favorite personality of the French for more than ten years, has almost disappeared from the media landscape. He only comes out of retirement to get involved in causes that are close to him, such as that of caregivers during Covid.
