80 years since the Landings: Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg present at the commemorations

The actor and the director were seen at Caen-Carpiquet airport on Wednesday, June 5. They are expected to participate in two ceremonies; one in Colleville-sur-Mer and the other in Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer.

After Prince Albert II of Monaco and King Charles III, Caen-Carpiquet airport welcomed two new high-ranking personalities this Thursday, June 6, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Landings.

According to the airport’s official Facebook account, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg were seen exiting their plane in Normandy on Wednesday night. The two Hollywood stars are expected to participate in two ceremonies in the region: the binational French-American ceremony in Colleville-sur-Mer and the international ceremony in Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer.

Already present in 2004

Their presence in Normandy on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings is not insignificant, since the two men told this story on the big screen in the cult film. We have to save Private Ryan.launched in 1998.
