Gad Elmaleh wants to make the Michou Comedy Club a training center for the new generation of comedians. A way for the actor to offer a trampoline to the new artists, but also remain, himself, in tune with the times.
“A top that does not train, is a substitute that is dedicated to intellectual oxide, comfort, laziness. I sincerely believe that, like athletes, we cannot do this work without training,” he said in the BFMTV microphone.
“I need to face the new generation, not make youth but because it imposes a rhythm,” continues the humorist.
“We really got on stage for a fart”
With a capacity of 80 places, the Michou Comedy Club will initially open from Wednesday to Saturday, with the aim of schedule humorists at the beginning of your career throughout the week. On the poster side, “I have no criteria apart from the quality and the fact that it works,” says Gad Elmaleh.
“I have no problem with the people who make a humor that is not mine, which is not the one who loves, on the other hand, I am a client of what works. We are really a fart of everything,” adds the humorist.
After the death of its founder, nicknamed Michou, in 2020, in Michou, a true institution of the cabaret and cradle of the transformism located in 80 rue des Martyrs, had experienced financial difficulties before being in mandatory liquidation last summer.
