If she had shown extreme empathy during Anne Heche’s death, Lynne Mishele has changed register. Four months after the serious car accident that cost the actress her life, the tenant of the house hit by this vehicle filed a complaint against the Anne Heche estate.
On August 5, the American actress’ Mini Cooper crashed into Lynne Mishele’s rented house in Mar Vista (Los Angeles) before catching fire, “causing structural damage as well as a strong fire,” according to local firefighters. Hospitalized in critical condition, Anne Heche succumbed to her injuries a week later, on August 11, at the age of 53.
Lynne Mishele has since announced that she will sue the actress’s family, seeking “at least $2 million” in damages for negligence, emotional distress and trespass, according to the complaint filed in California Superior Court.
“Completely traumatized”
According to the owner’s lawyer, Lynne Mishele was working from home on the day of the accident and was “shocked by the impressive force of Anne Heche’s vehicle, which struck the wall of the house before going through the living room, kitchen, office and the closet of the main room to finish in the laundry room”, a few meters from the young woman and her pets.
“Claimant’s house and all her personal belongings were burned and completely destroyed, her photos and memorabilia, all her documents and business equipment, her laptop and iPad, all her clothes, her basic necessities…” we can read in the complaint transmitted by TMZ.
According to the complaint, Lynne Mishele has since been “completely traumatized” and suffers from insomnia, anxiety and depression. “She is unusually frightened by loud noises, plagued by nightmares and flashbacks of the incident, and she is terrified to go outside,” the court document states.
The Durand family, which owns the home, has also launched a kitten for Lynne Mishele, which allowed her to raise $183,500 (about 176,000 euros).
