Michel Sardou is back. At 75 years old, the singer has just announced a tour in 2023, her last, and 100,000 seats have been sold in just 8 hours. A first for the French artist, guest of BFMTV, who shared his surprise live.
“I have never done this in my life. It’s the first time I’ve had a tour start like this. I am very excited. It means that there is a desire to see me again and that means a lot to me,” she said. she says.
Called “I remember a goodbye”, after one of his songs released in 1995, this tour will begin on October 3, 2023 at the Zénith de Rouen. Around twenty dates are scheduled at the Zenith of France, from Lille to Strasbourg via Nantes and Toulouse. The tour will end on March 17, 2024 at the Paris La Défense Arena.
“I didn’t want to copy and paste”
If he had announced his departure from the scene in 2017, Michel Sardou confesses that he was convinced, in particular by his wife, Anne-Marie Périer, to return to song. “I did a bit of theater, but in the end […] It is true that I am not made to sit on a deck chair or play golf”, says the artist.
For his return, the singer has planned things like this in a big way, with an innovative show, accompanied by about twenty musicians.
“We are going to do everything differently. I did not want to copy and paste what I already did six years ago”, specifies Michel Sardou.
And to add: “We are in the process of developing a special staging, the presentation of the songs… Of course there will be the greatest hits, which will be treated differently, but also others that are less known or that I have sung less” . .”
However, there are no new titles in the offing for this farewell tour according to Michel Sardou: “The new songs are a rat trap because it means I have to make one record and therefore twelve titles and I don’t have the inspiration for so many songs. “
The artist and monument of the French song, however, does not close the door to new creations during his tour: “nothing prevents me from having a good idea and carrying it out,” he concludes.
