Spoilers ahead for episode 8 of FBI Season 5 on November 22, titled “Into the Fire”.
Agent Maggie Bell is officially back on the job FBI Season 5 last week, but not everything went well in its first episode because OA had doubts that it was completely ready for shooting action . While that tension was maintained in “Into the Fire,” they made a twist at the end of the episode that could mean the duo will return to their dynamic norm.
Stories don’t always repeat from episode to episode in procedural series like FBI, but “Into the Fire” made it clear that OA was still grappling with issues surrounding Maggie’s return to the court. No one else seemed to be nervous about this, and (like approached by actress Missy Peregrym before the episode) Maggie was downright frustrated with their reactions after she already seemed to prove she was 100% ready in the previous episode.
Then came the revelation: He was overreacting because he felt guilty and blamed himself for Maggie’s sarin exposure, and has apparently been eating it up since April. She clearly had no idea before her confession and quickly told him that it wasn’t her fault, that he hadn’t done anything wrong and that in the end it wasn’t anyone’s fault. . He pointed out that they were a great team and asked if they could come back, and he agreed that he would like her. On good terms again, they went out for a drink.
Their conversation (combined with Maggie’s boasts in two episodes now that she’s fully prepared for the vagaries of the job) was then enough to FBI reconnect with your company? The show sometimes confuses the partnerships, but the usual pairings before the sarin incident were OA/Maggie and Scola/Tiff. Now that Nina has left the team, the foursome can readjust to the roles and dynamics that have worked so well for them. Zeeko Zaki has even spoken out how OA might have handled the trauma differently if Maggie had been there.
That’s not to say they won’t switch partners or work more in groups than two pairs at a time, but FBI giving that two-episode time to focus on OA and Maggie’s relationship and then resolving their tension suggests they’ll stay together as the season progresses. Perhaps the only bad news for fans is this FBI is almost out of episodes for 2022.
The next installment will also be the last of the year. Titled “Fortunate Son” and aired SC extension (opens in a new tab) on December 13 at 8pm ET, will see Nina return for the first time since she found out she was pregnant and transferred to the White Collar Division of the FBI which probably means a big episode for Scola.
This is FBI will leave fans with as many hopes as possible before with a suspense at the end of the mid-term finale that is already for verse, but CBS has revealed that viewers will not tend to expect demotion in the new year for the return of the program in 2023 TV premiere schedule . FBI will return Tuesday, January 3 in the regular 8:00 p.m. ET timeslot on CBS. If you don’t want to go weeks without FBI action, you can re-stream past episodes with a Paramount+ Subscription .
