The Rennes Trans Musical will bring together more than 70 artists from December 3 to 7, the organizers announced on Tuesday, September 16 during the presentation of the 2025 program.
The rap, “there are always some, but there are many girls who come from hip-hop or the R’N’B,” Jean-Louis Brossard, the artistic director of Rennes Trans musicals (Iille-Et-Vilaine), told the AFP during the presentation of the 2025 edition program, this Tuesday, September 16.
“It’s different and new,” said the latter, Festival programmer since its creation in 1979.
Among them are Llinlin, a growing figure of French rap, or Odoneila, Rennes artist located between pop and r’n’b. But also Asfar Shamsi, known for his anthem for nostalgia for the decade of 2000 entitled “2006”, which will play every night in the outdoor scene.
“Unknown Artists”
Ssadcharlie, a non-binary re-punk artist will make his debut in France, after recently receiving Robert del Naja’s support, co-founder of the massive attack group and Bristol, as explained by Jean-Louis Brossard.
True to its spirit of discovery, the festival will welcome 77 artists from about thirty countries, which will occur between Expo Park and about fifteen cultural places in the Rennes metropolis.
Trans musicals revealed artists in the past now installed in the French scene, such as Zaho de Sagazan in 2022.
“This year, these are really unknown artists,” Jean-Louis Brossard insisted. As with Ssadcharlie, it will be, for most international artists, their first performance in France.
The genres of electro, pop, rock and experimental music have not been forgotten. The public can see Descartes in Kant on December 5, an alternative Mexican rock formation, “extraterrestrial cousins of the yes, yes.”
The Italian producer Andera Tirone, by her artistic name, Mind Enterprises, whose “idols” disco title was tested by the French DJ Kungs to become a planetary tube, will be on the stage of the Expo Park on Saturday 6.
They will share the poster with more experimental projects, such as the Spanish Electronic Pop duo Lofácil, or the men of the family, electroindustrial metal training.
