Arthur releases a book about “loneliness” and “fear” of Jewish French

The famous presenter of French television published his first book on Wednesday, called “I Lost a Bedouin in Paris.” He tells how he experienced the attack on October 7, 2023 and the two years that followed.

The host and producer Arthur launched his first book on Wednesday, to say “loneliness”, the “feeling of abandonment” and the “fear” of Jewish French against “the emergence of anti -Semitism”, in the context of the war in Gaza, said Tuesday in France Inter.

“I think the French are not aware of the fear and anxiety in which the Jewish community lives,” said Arthur, “French and Jewish”, before the departure of I lost a Bedouin in Paris (Grasset).

Written in the first person and signed Arthur Essebag (his last name), this book tells how the animator produced the attack on Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023 and the two years that followed.

“My book is in the solitude of the Jews after October 7, in this feeling of abandonment, about this growing fear and in the emergence of anti -Semitism,” he said.

“I have friends who, to take a taxi, change their name (…). Jewish students hide their star of David when they go to university. Women, when they go to the Kosher butcher shop, they turn around three times,” he insisted.

“Reduced to (your) Judaïté”

He also claims to have the impression of being “reduced to (his) Judaïté since October 7.” What bothered me most was that every time nearby artists or the people they knew, who came regularly on my television programs, they published something terrible against Israel (on social networks), they sent me a text “but it has nothing to do with you.” As if I were Israel’s ambassador, “he developed.

“We can love Israel and not agree with the Israeli government, since we can criticize Hamas and have empathy for the Palestinians who suffer,” he said.

Arthur also believes that the Jewish community of France has “closed as an oyster” against Emmanuel Macron due to “a succession of statements by the president.” Among them, the President of the Republic’s statement before the UN at the end of September to recognize the state of Palestine: “We discovered that it was a white hand given to terrorists.”

The animator producer concluded saying his hope in the culmination of a peace plan: “I hope we get to (…) this end, that hostages are released, that peace returns and that the sufferings of the Palestinian people stop.”
