Zach Bryan fills stadiums with a genre usually popular among American conservatives. The 29-year-old singer recently posted a snippet of a new song on Instagram, where he sings that the anti-immigration police are “going to come and break down your door” and that “the kids are all scared and alone.”
“I hope you understand how completely disrespectful this song is, not only for law enforcement but also for this country,” responded the US Minister of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, when asked about the subject by a right-wing influencer.
A ministry spokeswoman also suggested that the singer “adhere to pink skies“, title where he expressed his pride in his hometown. The ministry also mocked the artist in X by publishing a video where ICE agents arrest migrants, with another of his songs as the soundtrack.
A cultural battle
Zach Bryan, who served seven years in the U.S. Navy and whose parents are former military personnel, on Tuesday downplayed criticism of his new song, titled Bad newswhich according to him reflects his love for his country.

“When you listen to the rest of the song, you will understand the full context that criticizes both sides,” both the left and the right. “To be clear, I’m not anywhere radical.”
