Prince Harry dresses up as Spider-Man to send a message to British Army orphans

The Duke of Sussex is joining forces with Scotty’s Little Soldiers, which helps children whose parents have died serving in the British Army.

Prince Harry dresses up as a superhero for a good cause. In a video posted to YouTube on Saturday, the Duke of Sussex dons the Spider-Man costume to address children who have lost a parent to him in the British Army.

“Christmas is a time when we miss our loved ones a lot, and that’s normal,” he says, hiding behind his red and blue suit. “And it’s possible to feel guilty about having fun without our parents. But I’m here to assure you that our parents still want us to have fun.”

“Don’t feel guilty”

This video is the result of a collaboration between Prince Harry and the Scotty’s Little Soldiers charity, which helps the sons of soldiers who have died in service with the British Army.

“Don’t feel guilty,” he continues. “You’re allowed to have fun, especially with the Scotty’s Little Soldiers folks. So go ahead and have fun…and Merry Christmas,” she concluded, removing her ski mask to reveal her face.

This isn’t the first time Prince Harry, who lost his mother at the age of 12, has collaborated with Scotty’s Little Soldiers. In 2019, Meghan Markle’s husband had posted a similar video in which he dressed up as Santa Claus.

According to the American magazine People, Scotty’s Little Soldiers was created in 2010 by Nikki Scott, a year after the death of her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, in Afghanistan. Prince Harry met her in 2017 at an event in Buckingham.

The association supports children through education, organizing events (particularly their annual Christmas party) or offering them gifts, and also helps their bereaved parents.
