Symbolically and emotionally strong end of the year celebrations. This Sunday, the King of the United Kingdom, Charles III, unveiled his first official Christmas card since his accession to the throne. It was published on the official social media page of the Royal Family.

The photograph on the card, showing her with Queen Consort Camilla, was taken on September 3 by Sam Hussein, five days before Elizabeth II’s death on September 8 and while she was still in office as Prince of Wales.
“We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”, it can also be read, written in red.
On that day, the not-yet-royal couple were on hand in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, where they unveiled a structure dedicated to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, who was unable to attend due to declining health.
Charles is dressed in a tweed suit with a red, green and beige tie, while the queen consort wears a green suit and matching hat with a pheasant motif and pearl earrings.
