Getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is like a rite of passage if you’re in the entertainment industry. In essence, it confirms that you’ve made it, and that you’re among the best of the best to ever grace the screens big or small. Octavia Spencer is one of the latest stars to receive her honor and some of her friends, including Allison Janney, were there to celebrate the occasion. And during the event, Spencer shared a sweet moment with Janney.
On December 8, Octavia Spencer received the 2,742nd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in the presence of comedian and fashionista Allison Janney. The two stars have worked together on a few movies over the years and now they seem closer than ever. It was evident in a photo shoot the actresses did for the La belle edition of PEOPLE earlier this year. At Spencer’s ceremony, however, the two shared a truly sentimental moment, when they embraced while Janney was on the runway. Check for yourself:
It’s a Kodak moment if I’ve ever seen one. The occasional co-stars appeared together chicken party, pretty bad people, and the Oscar-winning film Ugly, with Viola Davis and other stars. One can’t help but feel a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that the stars have stayed so close over the years. It is really appropriate that the Mom the alum would speak at the star ceremony and illustrate how much he respects his good friend.
Between Allison Janney’s many projects and performances from Octavia Spencer, the two have yet to star together in another film. The two are expected to collaborate again for a film or television production. Given how close they are, I can’t see the two not reuniting for anything else in the future. And maybe I can include another actor Spencer has become friends with.
The west wing icon wasn’t the only one speaking at the ceremony. Will Ferrell also had some kind words to say about his well-reviewed co-star from the magazine. Energetic. According to the Los Angeles Times, he also silenced a troublemaker during the event as he spoke, making sure no one spoiled his colleague’s day. Seriously, can you imagine having friends like that, because I sure can’t? It’s clear that Octavia Spencer had all the love on her big day, and rowdy aside, things seem to be going well. Here is the continued success for the Oscar-winning artist. I also hope Spencer, Allison Janney and Will Ferrell reunite for some kind of project in the future.
