There’s a risk in living part of your life in front of the camera, and celebrities know that they often need adequate security to protect themselves and their loved ones. Kelly Clarkson was deal with some problematic situations recently, and again forced to take legal action, after a man, described by security as “tall and physically imposing”, came to his home several times and asked to see the Emmy-winning talk show host . Clarkson has filed a restraining order against him, saying she is “afraid” that she is trying to harm her family.
Kelly Clarkson reportedly filed the restraining order in Los Angeles, expressing concern for her two children, the house manager and nanny, who the singer says spend a lot of time with her at her home, office and several televisions and music studios. Legal documents obtained from the explosion shows that she felt compelled to act after the unwanted visitor nearly ran into Clarkson’s two children and the nanny. On Dec. 3, the man was denied access to the property and, according to court documents, a member of the security team said:
So I told him he had to go. He said he was fine, but he lingered, still looking confused and annoyed. Then he moved away from the gate, but remained in front of the property across the street. Around that time, Kelly’s babysitter arrived in the family van with her children. I saw this individual start gesturing or taking a picture of the van. I then called the babysitter to tell her that it wasn’t safe to open the door with this person there and that she needed to go somewhere safe with the kids until the police were called. She then left the property and I called 911.
It was apparently the man’s third visit to Kelly Clarkson’s home, as it was reported that he had already been seen trying to peek over her private door on two occasions on Thanksgiving. The man was described in court documents as “approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing over 250 pounds.” Talking to his security team at the gate, the man seemed to be thinking the american idol sample was waiting for him and repeatedly asked security if he was being scammed, as if someone online had led him to believe he was actually talking to the Grammy winner.
After the 911 call was made, the Los Angeles Police Department arrived to make a report, and a court date was set for January, according to The Blast. Kelly Clarkson apparently felt a restraining order was needed in the meantime, stating in the court filing:
I’m afraid of what you might do if you are served a hearing without a restraining order. I am afraid that it will harm me, my children or my property.
This ordeal follows another terrifying incident for the first train inside The voice , after filing a police complaint just a week ago about someone leaving her unwanted gifts after trespassing on her property multiple times. I hope Kelly Clarkson’s safety continues to protect her and her loved ones from any potential threats.
