Between Hereditary Yes mid summer , writer/director Ari Aster has quickly proven himself to be a masterful filmmaker with some seriously screwed-up stories to tell. So whatever you have next, we’ve been on high alert. Their crime film with Joaquin Phoenix was announced last year, and it seems the name has changed since Avenue of disappointment. a handsome is scared – but more interesting than the title change is what happens with this first poster.
The film’s new official title has been revealed by A24 (the production company behind enough favorites for a Sobering horror movie marathon ) with a very haphazard and, frankly, oddly composed poster instagram . Look:
It looks like a movie called joachim phoenix rather than handsome is scared, which appears as a hashtag in the lower left. Also, what about that boy actor artwork in the silk pajamas? I’m so confused!
A24 simply titled the poster “Ari Aster. Joaquin Fenice. Next year, BEAU A PEUR. And this is all. Avenue of disappointment it’s a much better title in my opinion, but hey these two names are enough to excite me handsome is scared independently.
Joaquin Phoenix just won the 2020 Oscar for Jester as well as his critically acclaimed 2021 film Come on and has the second Jester moving movie. Joker: madness for twowhich will also star Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, filming has just begun before the October 2024 release date.
handsome is scared it is described as a decades-long portrait of “one of the most successful businessmen of all time”. This description definitely makes sense for this literal depiction of a young phoenix. Maybe there will be others that will show the character gradually aging? In set project photos Joaquin Phoenix was photographed looking much older, with gray hair and wearing the same gray pajamas as the poster.
How Ari Aster was looking for one of best horror movies of all time , I trust him. There’s a reason this particular poster is the first image of handsome is scared. I wonder if a young Joaquin Phoenix will be in any way in this film, or if it’s some kind of metaphor for how childish this “business man” is.
My mind will also blow if this poster is deliberately misleading due to the original name, or if A24 just put out some weird marketing. I guess this poster is a sign that a trailer with a release date might be on the way. We currently know it will be between Movie release dates 2023 but there are far more questions than answers right now.
