If gaming fans thought the early years of the pandemic were great for gaming legend Hideo Kojima, 2023 and beyond are shaping up to be even more impressive. The imaginative storyteller recently delivered a Christmas surprise in the form of a confirmation mortal stranding 2with a glimpse of its existence, and has now revealed a film adaptation of mortal stranding it will be the first feature film project for his company Kojima Productions. I know I’m not the only one with an ever-growing list of questions, like “Will the movie keep the game’s stellar cast, led by Not dead protagonist Norman Reedus? (We all say “direct from” in our heads, right?)
A game that has already garnered massive (but certainly not universal) praise for its already cinematic scope and narrative, as well as its diverse cast, mortal stranding It will undoubtedly remain difficult to adapt to a format with limited frames and limited runtimes. It’s unclear how much Kojima will be involved in the creative process at this early stage, though it is noted that he will “develop and produce” the project through Kojima Productions alongside Alex Lebovici and his Hammerstone Studios imprint. Interestingly, some of the on-screen talent, such as Guillermo Del Toro and Nicholas Winding Refn, were only recorded using motion capture, while their character voices were provided by other actors. (Anyone familiar with the voices of del Toro or Refn was no doubt shocked to hear what came out of their digital mouths on mortal stranding.) But for the larger and more present characters, the actor and their voices coincide.
Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen would no doubt be the go-to players here, with Reedus’ Sam Porter Bridger as the only lead to Mikkelsen’s militant antagonist Clifford Unger. Which is not to belittle the characters of Margaret Qualley or Lindsay Wagner, or anyone else, but to consider mortal strandingSince the story minimizes non-Sam appearances for much of its runtime, it would be easier to explain other cast changes.
Reedus is currently in France film the Not dead divided series Daryl Dixonand he’s probably already filming the next season of his AMC series Stroll (with Keanu Reeves as next guest star ). It was recently revealed that she will be joining the Cast derived from John Wick Dancer Yes mortal stranding 2 it probably takes some of your time too. Assuming that mortal stranding requires some time to bond behind the scenes, Reedus could perhaps make room in his schedule to take Sam to deliver an endless line of goods through the Knot Cities that form the post-cataclysmic United Cities of America.

I look forward to learning more about how mortal stranding he’ll be changing his story for adaptation purposes, which will likely amount to a lot more than the changes he made in the Director’s Cut version. Now, if we could get this long-awaited announcement from Kojima Productions On pt coming back from the digital grave, that would be great.
