It’s been nearly three years since Stephen Amell last bowed out as the Green Arrow, and with the Arrowverse slowly dying on The CW, it may be too late for the actor to return to the role again on TV. . However, with the changes at DC, could he be ready to join the Justice League on the big screen?
In a new interview with The Greek Home Show, Stephen Amell opened up about the possibility of reprising his role as the hooded vigilante, though not necessarily on the small screen. Amell was asked if he would like to appear in the cinematic universe as Green Arrow, and was in favor of continuing to tell the story of Oliver Queen:
If I’m going to be a part of the DCEU, I probably just want to play Green Arrow. I do not know. I mean, are they still separated? Haven’t we had two flashes in the Arrowverse at one point? Then I don’t know. We will see. Anything they want.
As of right now, there is no DCEU Green Arrow, so hypothetically Stephen Amell still has a shot. And even if one Green Arrow has already been released, or another one is released in the future, who’s to say a multiversal twist can’t have more than one Emerald Archer? Also, fans can’t forget that Ezra Miller appeared in the flash against Grant Gustin, so if the DCEU can be in the Arrowverse, why can’t it be otherwise? Or at least a Green Arrow from another universe still played by Amell, in light of how Arrow term?
If Stephen Amell were in the DCEU as Green Arrow, he wouldn’t necessarily be with the Justice League or other heroes. Even if he had his show of him with ArrowAmell still wishes a separate film had the chance, mostly because of second chances:
If I had to pick one, I’d pick my movie, simply because there are so many things I would selfishly want to do with Arrow that we couldn’t necessarily do on TV.
Arrow It ran for eight seasons on The CW and nearly spawned the spin-off series. Green Arrow and Canary Islands. Amell’s series launched what would become the Arrowverse and beloved DC heroes joined the network, but it was separate from the films. While it’s hard to say if anything from the Arrowverse will seep into the DCEU, it seems the actor is interested in continuing Oliver’s story if given the right opportunity. No wonder Oliver is still with him.
With the changes that have recently occurred at DC on top of the Warner Bros. Discovery debacle, it’s unclear what the DCEU will look like going forward or who will be a part of it. After everything that happened with Ezra Miller, fans have been campaigning too the flashGrant Gustin will reprise his role as Scarlet Speedster on the big screen, especially with the superhero franchise ending in 2023. If by some miracle Gustin and Amell team up again to reprise their roles in the DCEU, if only for a movie or two, that would be something superhero fans could celebrate.
Since when the flash it’s part of the 2023 TV schedule and is now the last remaining Arrowverse series after that DC star girl, only time will tell if we will see these same heroes again on the big screen.
