The DC Extended Universe is currently undergoing a number of major changes. James Gunn and Peter Safran have been named co-CEO , and it seems that the two directors want to give more meaning and cohesion to the shared universe. But they’ve suffered a backlash, thanks to bold notions like Henry Cavill’s abandonment of Superman. Yes Gunn replied Ray Fisher called him out on Twitter about DC’s work.

This has seemingly continued since James Gunn was given his new lead role, with Fisher blaming the Guardians of the Galaxy director to delete previous tweets criticizing the studio. Well now you have it. It seems that James Gunn didn’t delete his tweets to Ray Fisher on purpose. Instead, your feed seemingly only gets deleted every few months. While he hasn’t gotten into the inner workings of what’s happening in the DCEU, he has denied any nefarious intent with his Twitter feed. We’ll just have to see if the Cyborg actor responds to this ongoing dialogue.
James Gunn’s tweet to Ray Fisher came as the 35-year-old actor claimed the director was using “false grace” to address the changes afoot at DC. Fisher cited a previous interaction he had with Gunn online, regarding allegations about Joss Whedon’s behavior on the set of Justice League When Fisher discovered that Gunn’s tweets were no longer available, he apparently thought it was an underhanded move made on behalf of the studio. Although he has been discredited since Lollipop director.
Given the strong feelings surrounding superhero franchises and the DCEU, James Gunn and Peter Safran have definitely gotten some flak online. Gunn recently addressed toxicity which is also present, at the same time as clarifying and respond to various voices are currently circulating on social media. But regardless of the tone, it’s clear the new CEOs have a clear vision for the shared universe that won’t be affected by fan chatter.
