The Droughtlander between seasons of foreigner It’s not over yet, but Starz is helping fans celebrate the holiday season with a first trailer of what’s happening in the season 7 outsized after the sixth shortened, more when the show returns! Season 6 concluded with a very uncertain future for Claire after she was taken to Wilmington and imprisoned for Malva’s murder, far from any ally other than Tom Christie…if she can be trusted. The first video reveals what awaits Claire in Wilmington, plus much more, and the reveal raised some big questions for me.

What the season 7 premiere video reveals about Claire
The trailer is edited in such a way that it’s hard to tell exactly what is a dream, what is reality and what might even be a flashback, but the shot of Claire on a gallows with a noose around her neck, her same short hair as the season 6 finale, and the cuts on her face look awfully real. Though it’s only seconds of footage, it reveals that Jamie, Young Ian and the rest of their would-be rescuers won’t arrive in time to prevent their execution.
Now since then foreigner presents Caitriona Balfe and the sixth season he ended up with various ways to save her , it was never very likely that Claire would be killed after she was falsely accused of killing Malva Christie. What I already wonder about the seventh season
My first big question about foreigner when it returns for the seventh season it’s simple: how much leap in time awaits us? I’m basing this on two homages that I suspect aren’t from Jamie’s dream sequence: several shots of Claire with longer than hair hanging from the gallows, and what appears to be Brianna trying to give birth. Bree was still in the early stages of her pregnancy at the end of season 6 and she still hadn’t shown, so there should be enough jumps for several months.
I also assume that the shot of Jamie and Claire in bed with long hair is part of the dream, but there are shots of Claire with hair longer than on the gallows but short enough to be believable during a time jump of months instead of years. There’s also a photo of Jamie and Bree apparently frolicking together outside on a log, while she doesn’t look visibly pregnant, presumably meaning it’s early in the season, before she shows much or after giving birth. light. Jamie seems pretty calm too, so it seems fair to say that this was after Claire fled and/or fled Wilmington.
Sam Heughan previously said that season 7 will continue shortly after the events of the season 6 finale ; if there is a time jump, it won’t be immediate. He also mentioned the prophecy that Jamie and Claire would die in a fire, which they did first mentioned in season 4 with him foreshadowing the resumption in season 5 . It’s something Brianna and Roger wondered about earlier when they decided to try going back in time for Jemmy’s sake; Will they ask the question again in season 7? Or is it a question that someone else has to deal with?
