The DC Extended Universe is known for keeping fans on their toes, and that’s been especially true in recent months. Peter Safran and James Gunn were recently named co-CEO and make sweeping changes to give the shared universe a more coherent vision and story. and then Henry Cavill dropped as Superman , there have been countless rumors of other established heroes. Shazam’s Zachary Levi recently spoke about DC’s changes and the rumors about his future as the lead. That’s how it all happened.
Zachary Levi stars in upcoming film next DC movie come to the halls Shazam: Fury of the Gods. Despite this, there has been a lot of talk about whether or not he can be removed as the direction of the franchise changes. Recently theater and film actor made this speech head through instagram said:
Many of you are following the saga that is the restructuring of DC, and our new bosses, Peter Safran and James Gunn, now co-presidents and CEOs of DC studios. And I’ve seen a lot of discussions, I’ve seen a lot of people online saying so many things. And many of these things are obviously wrong, or just plain wrong. And I think a lot of this is also on purpose.
He’s not wrong. There are countless rumors and “reports” regarding the DC Universe, most of which are probably completely false. And Zachary Levi seems to take offense at people who make up stories and make an already difficult time even harder.
Zachary Levi’s Instagram video was originally live and shared to his 1.6 million social media followers. He talks quite freely about what it’s like to hear all the DC chatter as one of the franchise’s main cast members. And that includes rumors he already knows are false.
Speaking directly to fans, Zachary Levi spoke about the leadership change at DC. Though he’s apparently on good terms with Walter Hamada, he seems thrilled that the filmmaking duo doesn’t master the shared universe. In his words,
Listen, I loved Walter Hamada. I have loved him as a boss, I love him as a human being and I look forward to working with him wherever he goes. But I couldn’t have picked two better people to be the people who now help lead the DC Universe.
That said, Zachary Levi has also addressed some of the negativity that has made its way into the DCEU during this uncertain time. That includes information that his time as a superhero version of Billy Batson may be coming to an end. He spoke about it directly, reminding everyone of it Shazam! fury of the gods it’s only a few months away from its release. as he said,
A lot of things I’ve said at various conventions are always taken out of context, because people want to do that. Because they want to stir up shit and drama. Well, you can stop it. Like I said, I have no idea what’s going to happen at the end of the day, but it doesn’t have to. I show up and do my job. I’m so grateful I can be Shazam, I’m so grateful I can be the amazing Billy Batson. And I will show up and do it every chance I get. At this point, I’m still that character. I haven’t had open conversations with bosses. We have a movie that’s literally coming out in March.
Some serious observations have been made. With ShazamGiven that the sequel is the next DC movie to hit theaters, it doesn’t make sense for DC to part ways with Zachary Levi. Though he admits that anything could happen in the future, he seems committed to his role and eager to introduce us to the next chapter in the Billy Batson story.
