FBI: International has finally brought Forrester back, but there’s bad news for Team Fly

Spoilers ahead for the winter premiere of FBI: International Season 2, titled “Wheelman”.

FBI: International returned to CBS with the TV show’s winter premiere of 2023, but it wasn’t just the return to normal for Team Fly at the end of “Wheelman.” forest busy with analytic work in other parts of Europe while rainy undercover as part of an art theft that required an escape, con Kelet and the rest of the team helped out as best they could Ken Dandridge try to slow them down. While the case was closed and Forrester was back in Budapest by the time the credits rolled, his return came with a reveal of his whereabouts, which is bad news for the team.

Forrester and Kellett couldn’t figure out why he was basically being diverted across Europe to do the demanding job for most of the episode, even with hints here and there that something was going on behind the scenes that didn’t bode well. good for them, the team of him. At least part of the truth began to emerge when Forrester confronted Dandridge about his three-week absence. Dandridge finally revealed:

I had the opportunity to observe the Fly Team. The team you lead, as you just reminded me. They are careless, undisciplined and take unnecessary risks. They barely kept me posted on their mission. Indeed, I would say that they have deliberately done everything possible to keep me in the dark about what happened in Antwerp. I had to get the details through Europol. Two people died there as a result of the actions of their special agents. And I don’t blame Raines or Kellett or Vo. I blame you, their boss. So I’m here to tell you that I spoke to the deputy commissioner in Washington. They’re transferring you to the administrative division in Alabama. You have two weeks to finish here, then you leave.

The administration in Alabama is far from leading a task force in Budapest! It seems safe to say that there’s more going on with Forrester’s exile in the South than just Fly Team taking unnecessary risks, though we’ll have to wait at least another week to find out more. when the showrunner Derek Haas explained that Luke Kleintank he was less present for season 2 because he was a new father, he also anticipated that Forrester’s career would be in jeopardy, and a big story arc was on the way for him.

If Forrester gets sent to Alabama, it doesn’t bode well for the rest of the team. While Kellett took the opportunity to manage in his absence, the team is counting on his return, so they certainly won’t be thrilled by the news. Also, according to CBS’s description for next week’s episode, titled “BHITW,” Dandridge will be assigning a new agent to the team, and the promo suggests he won’t do well:

While there’s definitely cause for concern that Team Fly lost Forrester (if only temporarily) in Season 2, I’ll just retrace what that was like. jaegers she was professionally convicted at Interpol in season one. Before long, her job was saved, she was promoted, and the season 2 premiere revealed that she’s thriving…even if she’s off-screen. If Jaeger’s job could be saved, why not Forrester’s?
