Susan Sarandon’s Daughter Eva Amurri Shares What It Was Like Growing Up On Movie Sets With Other Celebrities’ Children

Much attention has been paid in recent months to the children of Hollywood’s biggest stars and the unique experience that comes with them. Much of the attention has been focused on the opportunities offered to “nepo children” if they want to follow their parents into show business, but growing up among celebrities and following their parents wherever their next project is filmed is a completely different upbringing than most of us know. Eva Amurri, daughter of Susan Sarandon, recently opened up to her followers about what it was like growing up on film sets and her relationships with other famous children.

Eva Amurri, who was part of the Cast of the musical drama Fox Monarch with her mother Susan Sarandon, said some people compare the experience of growing up in Hollywood to growing up “in the circus,” and she confirmed in ICT Tac that she grew up surrounded by the children of not only her parents’ co-stars, but also the directors and other crew members. She said:

People in the industry, who have grown up in the industry, sometimes compare the experience to growing up in the circus, in the sense that you spend these really surreal periods of time very connected to other people, whether they’re other people. people’s families or people as an actress, this happens too, where you spend all that quality time with just a certain group. And you become so, so close, almost like family. And then one of the things that is really confusing in the acting world is that then when the project is done, a lot of times everyone breaks up and you just disappear in real life, and sometimes it can be very sad.

It seems like a pretty unique — and shocking — experience to bond with other kids who understand the predicament you’re in, to completely lose touch with that new family once a movie or TV show ends.

One would have to imagine it to be different today, with the availability of social media, but back then Eva Amurri, whose father is Italian director Franco Amurri but was raised by her mother’s longtime partner Tim Robbins, has long said she and her family were able to keep in touch with some families more than others. She continued:

So I have a lot of great memories of different people that we got really close with and went on vacations with if those things happened while we were shooting and other kinds of kids, I think the term people use now is ‘nepo baby’. ‘ But yeah, they spend that time together, and then they still have something in common, and then we stay close with some families over the years and some not so much. But it’s still a unique experience growing up like this, so I think there’s a certain thread that you feel with other people growing up in this strange world.

It is easy to see how children growing up in such circumstances soon become friends with others who understand this way of life or, as Eva Amurri said, always feel a common thread with other children called nepo .

Eva Amurri appeared in the film Checked! in 2009 and played Jackie californication Season 3. Also had one guest role in Friends with his mother. You can see her playing a younger version of Dottie, Susan Sarandon’s character in Monarchwhose only season is available to stream with a Hulu subscription . You can also keep an eye out for Sarandon on the film’s 2023 release schedule, as has been announced join the DC Extended Universe movie blue beetle out by the end of the year.
