Deepfake technology has come a long way in recent years. It was impressive (if a little scary) how well this worked originally, but now it can legitimately be hard to tell if you’re looking at a deepfake whether it’s real or not. And it turns out that when it comes to a Keanu Reeves deepfake in particular, it can be hard to tell even if you know the truth.
He TIC Tac The Uureal_Keanu account is a series of videos that appear to show Keanu Reeves doing some pretty mundane things around the house which, if real, would probably get millions of views. The account has millions of views, though in reality this isn’t about Keanu Reeves, and even though people technically know this, many people are still in shock, while others seem genuinely duped.

Comments on these videos range from those who can’t believe how much this guy looks like Keanu Reeves, even though he clearly knows he’s not Keanu Reeves, to those who perhaps think that even though “irreal” is in the username, this could be the real Keanu Reeves on TikTok…
Are you a lookalike or are you the real Keanu?
To others, even if they’re sure it’s not really Keanu, it seems like he’s just playing around and carrying on for a while. To be honest, not only does this guy look like Keanu, but he also has a physical presence that you would totally buy. And Keanu has been known to perform hilarious stunts for fans. The only reason to believe it might not be real is that it is the Internet after all.
Well, I’m finally convinced it’s not the real Keanu. But he has humor and heart, so I absolutely appreciate that.
We’ve already seen some pretty awesome deepfakes of celebrities like Tom Cruise. This usually involves a person who is not without facial similarities to the celebrity in question. Then add technology on top to digitally transform one face into another. It’s basically the cheap and dirty version of what digital effects houses like ILM do when they need to digitally create Princess Leia or Grand Moff Tarkin in offender. Still, it’s better than most, because you don’t have to create everything digitally.
I don’t understand how you’re not Keanu. Separated at birth? LOL. It’s too weird.
But all of this leads to an interesting question. What if it’s not a deepfake and it’s just Keanu Reeves pretending he’s not really Keanu Reeves?
What if it’s Keanu Reeves trying not to be Keanu Reeves but trying to be Keanu Reeves?
We may never know for sure. But the real Keanu has a number of exciting projects ahead of him, including several john wick Projects
