Rob Lowe has been in the entertainment industry for some time, as part of the infamous 80’s Brat Pack which enjoyed success in both TV and film. He currently plays Fire Captain Owen Strand in the Fox drama First Aid. 9-1-1: Lone Star. Now he explains why the series is so special compared to his other television work.
Before the fourth season of the series and as part of the Netflix cast dog goneLowe appeared in the Kyle Meredith with… Podcastswhere he entered his time in Fox drama. The actor talked about how special it is to be there 9-1-1: Lone Starand it is on everyday heroes that the series focuses:
I love acting, playing real heroes, first responders. I’m over there; they are all underpaid, they literally save our lives. So to be able to embody this week and be, you know, able to tell these stories, it doesn’t get old for me. I mean, I thought a lot before signing it because I knew it could be a show that was going to last a long time. And I thought, ‘Do I want to explore this for a long time?’ and between the action, the physic, the challenges, i get beat in this show. It keeps me going and being able to play real heroes keeps me going.
It seems like half of the shows on network television these days are procedurals, following fictional first responders, police officers, firefighters, medical personnel, and more. There’s a reason it’s such a successful format, e.g 9-1-1: Lone Star he uses it not only to combine action and drama, but also to provide insight into what true everyday heroes do for a living. After three full seasons and before a fourth, Rob Lowe is still motivated to play them.
In addition to playing firefighters, Rob Lowe has also mentioned how cool it is to be inside lonely star. Just like real-life firefighters, you never know what the show will bring you in an emergency. Season 3 had an explosive ending after starting with a dangerous ice storm saga, plus the crossover with 9-1-1 brought them a forest fire, and they are just a few. It will be interesting to see what the new Emergencies season 4 has, as well as other dramatic storylines.
Meanwhile, though Rob Lowe has only talked about playing a firefighter and the different emergencies they make lonely star special, he also had a unique television experience with his family members. They west wing The former student was lucky enough to work with his family on the Fox series, with his brother Chad Lowe directing a few episodes and playing his estranged brother for one episode. Lowe has even admitted to having a telepathic relationship with his brother.
His son John Owen is also working on the series as a writer. The family business a lonely star he is strong and I can imagine how nice it must be to have this opportunity.
