Apple just announced the return of ted lasso in the spring, at a Television Critics Association press conference.
Bill Lawrence, the series’ co-creator, and Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent and co-wrote the script, also half-heartedly mentioned the series’ return. “I’ve seen footage and it’s absolutely incredible,” Bill Lawrence said. Brett Goldstein said that he was very proud of this season.
Ted vs. Nate
An image of this third season has also been made public. We see Ted Lasso and his former collaborator Nate Shelley, face to face, now turned into rivals. Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) smiling and Nate (Nick Mohammed), with his face closed. In the background is the traitor Ruppert Mannion (Anthony Head), the former owner of AFC Richmond, the club of American coaches.
A reference to the end of the second season, which ended after Ruppert, the ex-husband of Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), recruited Nate Shelley to coach his club, rival AFC Richmond.
ted lasso, which came to Apple TV+ in August 2020, won over audiences with its endearing characters and engaging story. The series is so popular that the fictional team AFC Richmond made it to the FIFA 2023 game.
Several statements by the creators of the series or its hero Jason Sudeikis suggest that the series should only have three seasons.
