During six bizarre episodes, viewers with a peacock subscription were able to follow the unusual story of Paul T. Goldman, a man who discovered that one of his ex-wives was unfaithful and possibly involved in prostitution…to see the story take several left turns from there. Paul Finkelman played a Paul T. Goldman, a character he created to tell his own story, first through the pages of a novel called “Duplicity: A True Story of Crime and Deceit,” and through this Peacock series. directed to Borat: next movie Director Jason Woliner . However, over the course of the series, public opinion of Paul and his actions were bound to change and evolve as more details about the man’s life came to light. And Finkelman trusted Woliner to tell the story about him, unbelievable as it was. so when Paul T. Goldman left his season finale on Peacock, I had to ask Woliner about Paul’s reaction to the season.

Paul Finkelman is not a reliable narrator. Although she begins the series with the story of his marriage to a con man and his belief that she was involved in an international sex trafficking scheme, we begin to understand that Finkelman’s story may not be accurate. Mainly because at one point in the season that Paul’s ex-wife and his pimp were “arrested,” Paul reveals Jason Woliner who invented this part.
Paul begins to admit that, in a series of books he continued to write called The Paul T. Goldman Chronicles, Finkelman began to shape the narrative to match what he believed. This included making Paul an international scholar: 007 satisfied Mr Bean — and even watched Paul meet with President Barack Obama. The problem is that Paul has really started to believe these lies. And we saw him face the truth in the series finale.
It wasn’t comfortable. So when I had a chance to talk to Jason Woliner as the finale fell, I asked him what Paul thought of the show now that it was over. And the director told Gossipify:
I think it’s complicated. … When we were shooting, he knew this was a show that was going to use scenes of him, and also elements of the behind the scenes and the documentary, and he was going to talk to real people and stuff like that. And I knew the cameras were there to document interesting things on set. Obviously, watching the show now, the decisions that I’ve made… he wouldn’t have made all the decisions equally. But as he finally tells me, he says he understands why I did what I did and that it was real. And she might enjoy it.
the shape of Paul T. Goldman this is extremely unusual. Due to shows like Office Yup parks and entertainment, where the RPG characters act similar to Paul, it takes at least three episodes before finally accepting the reality that Paul isn’t pretending. Then Paul had an unexpected problem with the show, as Jason Woliner explained:
I mean, most of his problems with the show right now are like jokes that he made up that I cut (laughs). Like we filmed 20 pages of the courtroom for her divorce process, and I don’t have time for that sort of thing. There are a lot of great scenes in The Paul T. Goldman Chronicles that we shot and I hope to post them on YouTube very soon. I have about 10 minutes, behind the scenes…just 10 minutes pure from The Paul T. Goldman Chronicles which I think is pretty good (laughs).
No matter how you cut it, Paul T. Goldman It was a fascinating experience for Peacock and another notable achievement in an emotionally awkward comedy for Jason Woliner, who sharpened that sword in Borat movie later.
