Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton accompanied their husbands, Princes William and Harry, on Wednesday night during the funeral procession of Elizabeth II’s coffin in London. And to pay tribute to the queen, the two women opted for understated jewelry.
Meghan Markle wore pearl earrings that Elizabeth II gave her after her marriage to Prince Harry in June 2018. The queen gave her this gift on the occasion of her first official trip. The two women had traveled to Cheshire together.
Kate Middleton wore a brooch on the lapel of her coat – a diamond leaf topped with three pearls – that belonged to the monarch. This is not the first time that Kate Middleton wears this brooch in public. Elizabeth II had also been seen in public with this jewel.
Coffin presented to the public
United in mourning, the royal family walked Elizabeth II through the heart of London, in front of thousands of people who were often moved to tears. Carlos III and his brothers were in the lead. Following, despite their estrangement, Princes William and Harry.
Queen Elizabeth’s coffin is displayed to the public in Westminster Hall. Tens or even hundreds of thousands of people must file past the coffin until the funeral on Monday the 19th.
