Alerted by the success of the sale among fans, the actor’s widow posted on the Twitter account of the Peter Mayhew Foundation, an association in his memory, that she was “heartbroken to see our assets being auctioned like this.”
According to her, Mayhew’s mobility problems had made it “impossible for her to go to the attic to retrieve the rest of those memories”. It was “one of the couple’s biggest regrets,” she said Wednesday on the social network.
On Friday, the auction house removed images of the items from its website.
