From one little mermaid to another, SplashDaryl Hannah defended Halle Bailey’s casting for being the next Ariel against backlash.
Daryl Hannah appeared on the big screen in 1984 Splash, starring Tom Hanks as a man who falls in love with a woman unaware that she is the mermaid who saved his life from drowning as a child. Like a woman who once carried a giant story, Hannah took it Twitter to defend black actress Halle Bailey from online racists:
