Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 1 is out now on Blu-Ray and DVD, and it won’t be long before we’ll be able to watch Season 2 with our Paramount+ subscriptions. The second season has been heralded as even better than the acclaimed first season, and in part because fans will get more information about the beloved Captain Pike and his Agency crew. We know how the story of Uhura and many other characters ends, but how does someone like actress Melissa Navia deal with the question of what will become of her Erica Ortega of her?
I had the opportunity to speak with Melissa Navia to celebrate the launch of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on physical media, and we talked about the questions fans have about Erica Ortegas’ future in Starfleet. I asked Navia if she had asked about Ortegas’ story when she received the scripts for season 2, and she confirmed it, while noting that she used the story of the series as a way to handle it:
Yes, yes. One thing I find so wonderful about Strange New Worlds is that Captain Pike knows the future of him. He knows how much his life will change and what do you do with that knowledge knowing that… In my career as in my personal life, Star Trek continues to fit things into place like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Where is it, it’s nice not knowing what’s going to happen and knowing all kinds of things are going to happen, but you really have to live in the present or you can’t function.

It’s all possible, but for me it’s more exciting to see the next script and put myself fully into this episode and what’s going on. What happens in the future? What he did in seasons 1 and 2 had an impact and will continue to have an impact. So, I really processed that.
We don’t know what to expect Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2, although we know a few things to keep in mind. Paul Wesley will return as Captain Kirk, and a pretty wild crossover with the animated series is expected. lower decks.
