It’s one of the most popular films of the late Robin Williams, and co-star Pierce Brosnan says he was very excited to work with Williams, even though he didn’t meet the actor until filming ended.
Former James Bond Pierce Brosnan recently sat down and talked with HQ in many of his most famous films, including Mrs. Doubt the fire. Brosnan talks about being thrilled to work with Robin Williams, noting that the first time he met Robin he was already doing Ms. Doubtfire makeup, at least from the neck up, which made their first meeting quite fun for everyone involved. I was so excited to work with him and Sally Field. I remember going to San Francisco on the first day. I walked into the makeup trailer and Robin was there. She wore a Hawaiian shirt, big hairy arms and cargo pants, hairy legs. But he had Mrs. Doubtfire’s head. [Chuckles, imitates Williams] Oh hi Pierce. Ooh, you look so beautiful, ooh, give us a kiss! Oh! [Deepens voice] ‘Hi buddy. Nice to see you, glad you came. [As himself] “Hey Robin, how are you mate?” [As Williams] “Oh, I’m fine, man. I’ve been here for hours. I was going to work, and I was working every day on this movie, and I always worked with, you know, Ms. Doubtfire. It wasn’t until the end of the movie that I met Robin.
Pierce Brosnan explains that Robin Williams had to be in the makeup chair early every day for her transformation from Mrs. Doubtfire. This fact, combined with the fact that Brosnan didn’t have scenes with Williams where he wasn’t dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire, meant that he apparently never saw Robin look alike during production. It must have been a pretty wild experience.
Brosnan also praises Robin Williams’ slime throwing abilities, even with all that makeup and prosthetics. Apparently, the famous “fruiting” scene, the one that Brosnan had to film all day since he thought it would take Williams all day to shoot, it was done in two takes. Also, the “run for result” line was not in the script.

Ms doubt the fire It was clearly a special experience for those who made it as it was for the millions of people who saw it. Pierce Brosnan says he took on the role at least in part because he needed the money, but he ended up being part of something much bigger.
