Research on genetic diseases: the Imagine Institute gives a Ferrari to the winner of its raffle

Philippe R. is the grand winner of a six-week raffle organized by the Imagine Institute, the world’s leading center for research, care and education on genetic diseases.

“This car is sublime.” Philippe R. is present this Saturday at the Imagine Institute to collect the keys to a Ferrari Roma. He is, in fact, the big winner of the draw entitled “Le Grand Prix Imagine”, organized from September 12 to October 23 by the world’s leading center for research, care and education on genetic diseases.

The man explained that he entered the raffle last week, after seeing the car with his son at the Mondial de l’Auto in Paris, where the Imagine Institute had a stand. “We played five times,” he told our microphone.

“We dream of cars like this. If someone had told me that we would win this award, we would not have believed it,” she said happily.

3 million people affected by these diseases

The actor Patrick Timsit, who accompanies the fight of the Imagine Institute, stressed the importance of “supporting research.” “I invite people to continue helping this institute, which brings together 150 researchers permanently and 600 researchers throughout the year, at the service of genetic diseases that affect children,” he added.

In France, three million people are affected by these diseases and each year about 30,000 new cases are diagnosed. With one difficulty: there are more than 8,000 different diseases, linked to the immune system, neurodevelopment, the blood, the kidneys or even congenital anomalies. In addition, five new diseases are discovered every month and only 10% of those affected have treatment.

Despite the end of the raffle, it is possible to continue making donations to the Imagine Institute on its website.
