According to a post by Volodymyr Zelensky on Twitter, “I emphasized the importance of the Alliance’s decisive position with regard to Ukraine’s future membership and thanked the positive assessment of Ukraine’s implementation of the European Commission’s recommendations.”
The Ukrainian president also said he had thanked António Costa for Portugal’s willingness to participate in the implementation of the three fundamental points of what he calls the “Formula for Peace”: food security, energy security and the avoidance of “ecocide”. .
In turn, António Costa also used social networks to confirm the phone call he had this Saturday with Volodymyr Zelensky, “on the day that marks the sad date of the 500 days of the war that Russia unleashed against Ukraine”.

“Portugal has supported Ukraine from day one in exercising its right of defense in this brutal and unjust war and will continue to support it for as long as necessary. We reaffirmed this commitment in the joint statement we issued following this meeting. have adopted,” continued the Portuguese Prime Minister.
“It has been 500 days of war. Russia must immediately and unconditionally cease this aggression and withdraw its troops out of respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Costa wrote.
