The PCP submitted a motion for a resolution this Saturday with a view to strengthening the network of equipment and services to support the elderly. According to the party, “it is essential that the government” implements resolution no. . . implement approved measures.
In the document to which the DN had access, the communists defend a series of 13 main measures, such as “the guarantee of public investment with the creation of at least 80 thousand vacancies in housing structures to support the elderly in the public network by 2026” or even that the government can proceed to “inventory the waiting lists for home care”, as well as extend the response capacity “from home care to every day of the week to ensure the necessary care for the elderly”.
For the PCP, it is “of the most basic justice” that the elderly – many with large contributions to social security – can then access “on equal terms, quality public services, essential to guarantee a dignified life with rights” .
The delivery of this motion for a resolution coincides with the International Day of the Elderly, which will be celebrated next Saturday, October 1, where the PCP believes that “it is unacceptable that this social group is faced with the continued deterioration of their living conditions and of your rights”.
The party also believes that, in addition to structures for the elderly, “it is also necessary to guarantee a genuine social policy and safeguard the rights of children”, to ensure that the new generations also have “rights, wages and decent living conditions”. .
