The PCP’s secretary-general said in Alter do Chão on Saturday that the “major national emergency” to which the country must respond is “the general and significant increase” in wages and pensions.
“Every day they fill their mouths with taxes, pages and pages of newspapers on the subject, but in concrete terms they don’t give a shit about the workers [PS, PSD, IL e Chega]. They all voted together against the measures we proposed to tax the profits of major economic groups, the banking industry, the energy sector, of all those who survive at the cost of the sacrifice of thousands and thousands of people.” said Paulo Raimundo.
The Secretary General of the PCP spoke in Alter do Chão, in the district of Portalegre, where he traveled to participate in a convivial lunch in the multi-purpose pavilion, through the local structures of the party.
“The problem, the big question, the big national emergency that the country needs to respond to and everyone wants to talk about this year, the fundamental issue that needs to be answered is the general and significant increase in wages and pensions. This is the big size , the big subject,” he insisted.
