The government will discuss the proposed state budget for 2023 in an extraordinary council of ministers on Tuesday, at a meeting marking the start of the process of approving the document, which will be delivered to parliament on the 10th.
Following this extraordinary Council of Ministers, released by the office of the Prime Minister, António Costa, in a statement, no briefing is planned, sources from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers told Lusa.
The government is to present the macroeconomic scenario to the parties with parliamentary seats before the end of the week, before the delivery of the document by the finance minister to the Assembly of the Republic on Monday, October 10.

The 2023 State Budget (OE) will be discussed in general in parliament on October 26 and 27, with the final global vote on the government’s proposal’s diploma on November 25.
The two usual pre-discussion hearings in general will be held on the afternoon of 21 October, after the plenary, with the Minister of State and Finance, Fernando Medina, and on the 24th with the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security , Ana Mendes Godinho.
The closing session of the Minister of Finance will take place on 11 November and the deadline for the submission of proposals for amendments to the National Diploma by the parties at 6 p.m.
Discussion of the document in the specialty in plenary will begin on November 21 and span the entire week, and a timetable has been set in a conference of parliamentary leaders that foresees the final wording of the document on December 14. be established.
Only then can the proposal be submitted to the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, for consideration.
This is the second budget proposal submitted by the XXIIIth Constitutional Government, following the parliamentary elections in early January in which the PS won an absolute majority.
