The housing minister said on Thursday that the government will assess whether or not to take action on the rental market, based on data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

“Today we know the latest data from INE. The government will now assess whether we have taken measures or not. It is now necessary to assess the different proposals, the different possibilities that we have on the table. Then we will be able to say whether we have made some progress or not,” said Marina Gonçalves.

The minister traveled to the city of Fundão, in the district of Castelo Branco, on Thursday to visit a building with 23 housing units that the municipality will acquire under the National Emergency and Temporary Housing Exchange, as well as houses in the historic area of ​​the city which will be rehabilitated under the First Law and the National Urgent Accommodation Subsidy.

The minister also emphasized that the indicator applies to the year 2024.
