“High neck, puffer jacket or pronounced neckline”: for Pannier-Runacher, it is “everyone define their own way of dressing”

The Minister for the Energy Transition explained that the French were free to dress as they saw fit, but that the main institutions had to set an example in terms of energy sobriety.

“Each one has to define their own way of dressing.” Guest of RTL, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister of Energy Transition, tried to close a controversy. For a few days now, several members of the executive have dressed in warm clothing to encourage the French to be energetic. This provoked the anger and ridicule of the opposition.

“It’s a joke! We could do many things on this subject, like turning off the light panels for example, and they respond with a sweater”, sighed a rebel interviewed by BFMTV a few days ago.

The presidential field does not want to lock itself in this sequence while Elisabeth Borne must present the government’s sobriety plan this Thursday. This “is not a gimmick”, but “something very serious”, stressed Agnès Pannier-Runacher.

“High neck, puffer jacket or pronounced neckline, each one will define their way of dressing,” he insisted.

For the minister, the important thing is that “the largest companies, local entities and administrations set the example”.

“It would be unacceptable to ask the French to make an effort and for these important institutions to do nothing,” he said.

Incentive for teleworking, check for 100 euros to promote car sharing, reduction of lighting, great communication campaign: Several measures of the sobriety plan have already been leaked before the Prime Minister’s speech this Thursday in the early afternoon.
