The PS is calling for a hearing next Wednesday with the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Pedro Nuno Santos, in Parliament, following the case of the closing of public contracts by a company affiliated with his family.
This request from the Socialist Bank, to which Lusa had access, was already addressed to the Chairman of the Committee on the Economy, Public Works, Planning and Housing, Social Democrat Afonso Oliveira, and was signed by the Vice-Chairman of the PS Parliamentary Group Carlos Pereira and by Deputy Hugo Costa.
“Following the news about the conclusion of government contracts by a company with a participation of more than 10% of a direct descendant of the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, the PS group requests the hearing “of this member of government” so that, in a transparent manner the matter is clarified”.
“Given the urgency of clarification, before the state budget, it is proposed to create an additional round at the next minister’s hearing already scheduled in this committee,” the request added.
Chega has also announced its intention to call on Secretary of State Pedro Nuno Santos to resign from parliament.
Nevertheless, According to a PS bank source, if Chega’s request is approved by the Economy and Public Works Committee, this initiative will be rejected by the socialist deputies.
