In France, several rallies of far-right activists were held after young Thomas was stabbed to death during a dance in Crépol. In Romans-sur-Isère, near this Drôme town, there were clashes with the police, before six people were sentenced to prison terms this Monday.
“The enemy of minority rights”
Since then, the rebels, like the rest of the left and the majority, have strongly denounced these actions. But not only. In LCI, Mathilde Panot also analyzes the rise to power of far-right leaders. “Look at Javier Milei,” she said, referring to Argentina’s new president.
“Although Argentines won the right to abortion in 2020,” this fight against abortion “risks questioning the fundamental right of women to dispose of their bodies,” laments the Val-de-Marne deputy.
“This extreme right, increasingly, is an enemy of women’s rights, it is an enemy of the rights of minorities in countries, so I am concerned to see an extreme right that is allowed to prosper, whose ideas,” keep going.
